In the speech of the chief guest, the brave freedom fighter Sadeq Siddiqui said that Senator Edward Trade Kennedy was the architect of the world of humanity. He worked for that purpose. Kennedy supported the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971, visited the refugee camps and urged the American people to condemn the persecution of the people of East Pakistan by American President Nixon and to work for the people of East Pakistan. For that purpose he united the people of the world. In particular, journalist Simon Drinks risked his life to expose to the world the fact that the Pakistani regime waged an armed war against the unarmed people of East Pakistan. We are also eternally grateful to journalist Simon Drinks. Our demand from today’s discussion meeting is to eliminate all conspiracies, corruption, and smugglers through the unity of the non-sectarian Bengali nation of the spirit of the liberation war. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina should build a free Bangladesh. Let us work towards that goal. And if we can bring Bangladesh to the non-sectarian democratic rule of law, Senator Kennedy’s discussion meeting will be beneficial only.
